“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

Hi, I’m Sandra Lee.

I created Uniquely Schizotypal as a space to talk openly about what life with Schizotypal Disorder can look like beyond the clinical descriptions and stereotypes.

Here, I share my experiences with disability, mental health, relationships, routines, work, advocacy, and the systems I’ve built to make everyday life feel more manageable. A lot of what I write comes from years of trying to understand myself, learning what support actually helps, and figuring out how to build a life with my brain and body, instead of constantly fighting against them.

I don’t have everything figured out, and I won’t pretend that I do. My hope is to create the kind of honest, practical, and supportive conversations that I often wished I could have found for myself - especially for a community that has spent a long time feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or like they were trying to fit into a version of life that wasn’t designed for them.

Outside of writing and advocacy, I’m a MAJOR animal lover and rescue mom to 3 rabbits and 2 chinchillas 🐰🐇, a big reader, plant lover 🌱, and someone who genuinely loves spending time finding creative systems for organizing everyday life. This is a site for all those pieces of me too. 🤍

I hope this website can offer a little more understanding, a little more possibility, and a reminder that there is no single right way to build a meaningful life. 🫶🏻
